Geneva County taxpayers deserve to know how their money is being spent—and whether their elected officials are making reasonable efforts to get the best value for it.

Over the past two years, I have repeatedly approached the Geneva County Commission with alternatives to its current IT arrangement.

In 2024, a proposal was presented that would have reduced the County’s IT expenses by approximately $1,677.50 per month — roughly 21%. The potential savings since that time have grown to approximately $36,000.

In 2026, the Commission was presented with another proposal offering approximately $65,000 in savings over 36 months, while increasing the services provided.

The Commission declined to pursue the proposal or seek competitive proposals from other IT providers.
